This position involves organizing and coordinating recreational activities such as sports, arts and crafts, dramatics, nature study, and social events to enhance patients’ physical, mental, and social well-being.
Prepares progress reports and collaborates with the treatment team to modify programs based on patient needs and capacities.
Responsibilities include implementing therapeutic recreation in an interdisciplinary setting, executing treatment plans, ensuring accurate documentation, and maintaining compliance with safety and regulatory standards.
Requires a Bachelor’s Degree in Recreation or a related field and a valid Therapeutic Recreation Specialist license.
Minimum of 1 year experience in Therapeutic Recreation is needed.
Certifications such as CTRS or equivalent through recognized organizations are required, along with CPR certification within 90 days of hire.
This is a full-time, non-exempt role supporting the health and well-being of patients through specialized recreational therapy activities.
