Organizes and coordinates recreational activities such as sports, arts and crafts, nature study, dramatics, and social events to promote patients’ physical, mental, and social well-being.
Prepares reports on patient progress and collaborates with the treatment team to modify programs based on individual needs and capacities.
Requires a Bachelor’s Degree and a Therapeutic Recreation Specialist license.
Implements recreational therapy within an interdisciplinary treatment team, executing treatment plans and ensuring accurate documentation.
Ensures compliance with safety and regulatory standards.
Minimum of 1 year experience in Therapeutic Recreation; certifications such as CTRS or related credentials required.
CPR and CPI certification needed within 90 days of hire.
